  • October 2012

  • Accufluidics launches the collaboration with Moredun Scientific Ltd. on Microfluidic Parasite Separation Technology, and won the KTN Spark Award.

  • The first University spin-out from the group is formed by Dr. Farid Amalou: Accufluidics.


  • Alan Faulkner-Jones receives the Second Year Postgraduate Research Prize 2012 from the Head of the School of Engineering and Physical Sciences.


  • Alan Faulkner-Jones presented his work at the International Conference on Biofabrication 2012 in Manchester, UK.

  • Alan Faulkner receives the First Prize for his Oral Presentation at the Heriot-Watt University Postgraduate Conference 2012.

  • The e-finger project started with Edinburgh University. Paul Scanlan joined the group as an EPSRC funded PhD student, with Dr. Steven Hammer as the RA.

  • Dr. Shu was awarded an EPSRC additional grant scheme.
